Introducing Zera

Zera means “seed.” But in our system, a Zera is more than a metaphor. It is a unit of impact creation.

A Zera is:

• intention made visible
• capital placed into action
• impact in its earliest form
• a seed that grows into measurable outcomes 

How Zera works:  The Zera Lifecycle

Every Zera moves through a living cycle:  

1. Seed: A contribution is made - donation received with instruction   
2. Planted: Allocated into a verified Field - donation is allocated to a pre-defined need/campaign   
3. Growing: Work is actively happening on the ground - payment was made to the non-profit for the need or campaign   
4. Verifying: Proof of impact is collected - proof of spend or status updates is received from the non-profit (this could be partial, completed or ongoing until campaign fundraising is completed)  
5. Harvested: Real-world outcomes are delivered – once the need or campaign targets are fully met.  
   
6. Multiplying: The seed is multiplying – this is in case of business-related investments and sponsorships with out partner Nikeza    
   

Zera is an ecosystem, not a transaction.

Types of Zera

Depending on the nature of your contribution, Zera is structured into six distinct pathways of giving, each designed for clarity, purpose, and measurable impact.

1. Need-Specific Zera - Daily Needs of Stewards (Verified Non-Profits) 

This is the foundation layer that keeps real-world care systems running. Donations are directed toward the monthly verified needs of our Steward partners (vetted non-profits), supporting essential humanitarian care.

Key benefit: You give directly into a specific need and see tangible impact in someone’s life. 

2. Fire Zera - Emergency Impact Fund 

When urgency matters most. This Zera type supports rapid-response humanitarian intervention through Tlatseng’s Emergency Fund, deployed in situations.

Key benefit: Immediate deployment into verified emergency situations where timing saves lives. 

3. Midnight Oil Zera - Operational Stability Fund 

When operational urgency matters most. The unseen layer that keeps impact systems alive and functioning. Supports our Stewards' operational continuity in time of crisis.

4. Campaign Zera - Time-Bound Impact Projects 

Focused giving toward defined, time-based initiatives. Supports specific campaigns led by Steward partners.
Each campaign runs within a defined timeframe with clear objectives.

5. Builder Zera - Non-Profit Operational Strengthening 

This Zera type is focused on strengthening the internal capacity of Steward organisations (vetted non-profits). It supports the ongoing operational and administrative needs required for non-profits to function effectively.

Key benefit: You help build strong, stable organisations that can deliver consistent and scalable impact. 

6. Nourisher Zera - Food Provision & Feeding Schemes 

This Zera type is dedicated to meeting one of the most immediate human needs: food.

Key benefit: You provide direct nourishment, ensuring individuals and communities are fed and sustained.

7. Business Invest Zera - Impact Investment Layer 

Through our Kingdom partner Nikeza, Zera connects capital to sustainable business ecosystems that generate both impact and return.
